Plugins should be use in moderation

Wordpress or any other blog applications plugins should be used sparingly. Depending on one needs, it’s not uncommon for a blog that I setup to only have 3-4 plugins. The more plugins used, the more avenues of attack, right? Additionally, if the plugin allows you to put stuff in your template, you may just be cluttering your blog more, but that’s a different issue… an aesthetic issue.
Before you use any plugin make sure the plugin has reasonable downloads and being tested by different bloggers on their blogs. Sometimes the plugins are duplicated in order to gain a link popularit, so be wise in choosing the plugin.
Try to compare the plugin with other similar and also dont forget to read the peoples comments and suggestions in choosing. If the plugin is not functioning well it can create trouble to your database. You must backup your data base before activating certain plugins.
