Reason behind slow computer response
It is very annoying and frustrating when your computer behaves slow. You have to wait a long time to execute your command or retrieve the desire results. The slowness of computer is that you load more data and more applications to your system. This will slowdown your system.
One of the things you can do is do a cleanup. Delete unecessary files and uninstall programs that you do not use. Also do a Defrag on your hard disk after. This will help make your system run faster, but not as fast as the first time you got your computer.
You can also restore your system to factory default, but this will aslo mean re-installing all your software and backing up and restoring all your files back. But this will surely make your system a lot faster.
One of the other reason your computer is slow might be antivirus installed on your computer. Try to increase your RAM which in return will speed up the computer process.
There are many reasons a computer starts to run much slower and these reasons could include memory, spyware, malware, viruses, un-needed services, system restore, TSR programs, and not defragging your machine, when needed.
Your system needs free disk space to allow for housekeeping. It uses the disk as a memory overspill and if it has to hunt around it will slow down. When the hard disk starts to fill up, files are deleted, and new software added, the disk becomes fragmented and the data on the drive is scattered rather than being organized into discrete areas. This causes the PC to slow down because it has to gather the data. Defragging your drive puts all the files in order which means your drive works better and lasts longer.
If you play games or do a lot of graphics you may not have enough system memory to run your software efficiently. When a PC gets low on memory, pages of memory not currently being used are moved from physical RAM to a swap file on disk called virtual memory. The page is moved back to the RAM when it is needed.
Your computer might have programs running in the background. This limits the memory available and the processor might be doing unnecessary work. Take a look at the icons you have in the system tray; these are programs that automatically load when Windows starts up, which slows Windows down.
TSR ( terminate stay resident) programs can be memory-resident programs, which mean they stay in memory at all times once they are loaded. Some TSR programs are calenders, calculators, spell checkers, Notepad, Real Player, anti-virus, screensavers and pop-up programs because they can pop up in applications. Screensavers take up a lot of memory – so if you don’t need one, turn it off. The same can be said for system restore, if you are not using this program turn it off.
