Single piece of computer runs several programs and each program has its own requirement to run on the machine. The program software vendors issue updates of their product regularly in order to run your program smoothly. It is good practice to update your program regularly.

When someone is online and popup windows appear for particular program to be updated, then it depends on user choice either to update the patches now or later or never. The never option does not hold any sense so try not to opt for that. When some one is engage in work assignment and dont like to update due to the fear of getting computer speed slow oRr any other mal functioning of programs then he can choose to update it later.

In order to go smoothly one can choose a specific time to update your computer. The operating system like windows update and others give you an option of updating your computer machine at a specific time. Now what is the best time to update your computer. I think if you are in office then the best time is lunch time. During the time you specify the program to update your computer, the programs will be updated if the updates are available and already downloaded by the computer.

The lunch time suggestion is due to idle time where the computer is not in use but be sure that your machine is not interacting with virtual server or any other uploading and downloading during the time you have chosen to be updated. It is because some updates require to close your applications while updating your system. One last thing try to save your work before the chosen time of updating your system so your work goes in safe compartments of your disc in order to avoid any mishappening.
