Securing your data on your mobile equipments gives an another challenge for security professionals because mobile data is at greater risk. The risk associated with mobile data are

1- Theft

2- Integrity

3- Compliance

4- Aunthenticity

5- Responsibility

The above risks are of serious nature as the companies who posess the data of their client are fully responsible for any damage happen to them through any negligience in handling the mobile data. If the data is lost by the company then it comes under breach which the companies can be sued by the sufferer.

The following remedies may give some relief but still they are not enough

  • Make good decisions in the first place – infrastructure, devices and deployment
  • Keep things centralised - you gotta be able to control things
  • Encrypt, encrypt, encrypt
  • Hammer home the implications and make it clear where accountability lies
  • It is ongoing debate which still have lot of complications.
