Purpose of free online security tools

Does free online security tools complete job?

My answer is NO.

The free security tools which are avaialable on the net doest not posess powerfull scanning as the paid versions do. These online scanners tools are only for demo purpose only. By using these tools one can only get rid of few worms only, so your PC reamins at high risk.

Why the companies offer free online security tools?

Its very simple, first they will ask you to run the tool on your system and make you scared of the worms which are present in your system which makes you think of buying a regular version to protect your computer.

The second purpose of free online security tools is getting your personal data so these companies can send you news letter, updates and offers etc which can turn into sales. the above purposes of security companies are not ethical  to stop using free tools but one can compare the tools by using the different brands to made a decision before purchase.
