Scansafe has warned that 300% malware levels increased in 2008

Scansafe has warned that 300% malware levels increased in 2008 which will keep going on.  Data trojans and iexploits increase by more than malware percentage.

The report from ScanSafe also discloses that the reputed sites are the most malicious sites on the Internet as they are often targeted by SQL injection attacks. The company reported that it found almost 780,000 malicious web pages during April 2008 due to a single SQL injection attack.

The report also says the well reputed sites are being the source of above activities as the attckers take advantages in loopholes left in sql through sql injection attacks.

The top industries which are being targetted are  Travel and Entertainment, Oil and Energy, Shipping and Transportation, Chemical and Pharmaceutical and Construction and Engineering. 

Cisco executives have said the network is the best place to tackle many of these tasks because it is the only element of the infrastructure that touches everything.
